About Beat

A selective club that takes its members on weekly musical and artistic rituals, showcasing talents from all over the world in an exquisite setting. Behind the walls of Beat exists a community of the tasteful few.

History of Beat

48 Margaret Street served as the music industry from 1966 to 1978. BEAT’s history as a speakeasy is central to its cultural identity as a venue that defies conformity. A location that has always been where artists and enthusiasts gathered for a redefined experience of artistic creation and social interaction. The club took its name and theme from the speakeasies of the American Prohibition era.

Frequented by record industry and artist agency executives, and attracting international touring bands and ones from the British rock scene to its stage: Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, The Beatles, Elton John, Pink Floyd, and the Rolling Stones to name a few. Beat today is still a hub for artists, and art lovers alike.
